4 Stars Remote is awfully inconvenient!
HD is beatiful. Analog is not good. The worst thing is remote. Its bottom round shape is irritating as you cannot operate it with one hand if it’s on the table. You HAVE to use both hands on most operations! Pretty idiotic! Sound is cheap.

But again, the HD picture is inspiring and leaves you wishing all channels are in 1080i HD (beats my 32″ Sharp Aquos 720p by a mile).

4 Stars Great Monitor
Very good monitor to replace my 19″in LCD Monitor. The HDTV tuner responses a little bit slow and build-in speaker is not very good qulity. But over all a good product for its decent price.

5 Stars false advertisement
EVERYTHING IS GOOD BUT IT NEEDS A DIGITIAL BOX TO RECIEVE A TV SIGNAL. I CALL SAMSUNG FALSE ADVERTISEMENT BY COMPANYS SELLING IT!I PURCHASE 40″& 24″ SAMSUNG FROM AMASON ADVERTISING DIGITIAL READY FALSE ADD?????Samsung LN40B550 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color

4 Stars Excellent TV, reasonable monitor
As a TV, very stylish and nice. However, I bought this product to use as a monitor. It’s ok if you don’t care about getting perfect colors, as myself. However, even so, I had a hard time to set up the best options such that my eyes don’t hurt and the bright is reasonable…

5 Stars True 5 Stars
This monitor is exceptional! The picture is amazing. Other people reviewed that there was no horizontal adjustment which is not at all true. Before you put the base on, you pull off the attachment which has a metal plate that can be adjusted to change the tilt. Only gripe I have is that I wanted to use analog audio while using DVI which isn’t possible. The UI is extension with many options for every input. The picture loss when moving left, right, up, or down really isn’t that bad. It’s just like any other high end LCD tv. I’ve watched a couple movies streaming NetFlix sitting about 6″ away and have been more than satified with the definition and picture quality. I highly recommend this for either a TV, gaming station, or editing because the size of this monitor allows for a large area of editing space. Samsung is this shiiiiatt.

Samsung HZ15W 12MP Digital Camera with 10x Schneider Wide Angle Dual Image Stabilized Zoom and 3 0 inch LCD Grey

The Samsung HZ15W includes a world first 10x optical zoom and 24mm ultra wide angle Schneider lens and cements Samsung’s position as an innovator in the new and important High-zoom category – compact cameras equipped with the sort of advanced zoom lens technology traditionally seen only in SLR cameras. This new technology gives people even greater control and helps them take better, professional standard photos; enhancing the entire photography experience, from shooting to sharing images with friends and family. The 12-megapixel HZ15W also includes HD movie capture so people can “Pause and Re-record” high definition videos and super sharp movie-quality recordings in one movie clip – a Samsung patented function. The cameras also include “Smart Auto” (Scene Recognition) technology: 11 optimized picture pre-settings such as Portrait, Night portrait, Macro and Macro Color, to help people take the perfect shot regardless of the conditions.

5 Stars Good Camera
Item arrived ahead of promised date in good condition. Charged battery and plugged in the sdhc memory card. Started taking picures and short videos. Happy with the quality of both. The HD video clips are pretty good. Love the wide angle lens. Did not use any advanced features. But the basic stuff is pretty good and that is what I do mostly. Yes, there is minor problem with the zoom induced noise with video, but not a big deal for me.

5 Stars Purchased Oct 2009
I spent a lot of time researching cameras and reading reviews. This is a good camera. The only downside is the location of the capture button. It causes you to reach a little and you tend to put you hand in the way of the flash. The picture quality and settings are great. The battery takes about 3hrs to charge, but lasted us the entire day.

3 Stars Takes nice pics but…..
I bought this camera simply because of past experiences with Samsung and the price point. The camera is beautiful but the rechargeable battery option is a pain in the butt. If you like to follow your kids around throughout the day or use it for 50 pics throughout the day…you will need to recharge the battery before the day is done. The PHD (push here dummy) button is not in the typical place, so it makes taking pics a little awkward because you are reaching past the button you would typically use and when you do hit the right button, it doesn’t take pics consistently causing you to lose shots, it has to be some sort of timing/focusing thing. The menus are intense and probably do a lot for you but I don’t have time to read it all. Standard pic files are over 3Mb. I returned my camera within a week and I am still using the A560 that I have had for a year or so.

5 Stars Amazing Camera!
This is an amazing, top of the line camera!

PRO’s:

DESIGN

The design is sleek and sophisticated, and although the camera is a bit bulky, it can still fit in my pocket. LCD screen does not scratch, which is great!

BEAUTY SHOT MODE:

I haven’t seen this kind of retouching on a digital camera before. The camera processes the image you just took and smooths the faces it detects, removing blemishes/wrinkles, etc. A great mode to make your skin look clearer, but make sure you’re taking photos in natural lighting (i.e. don’t rely only on the camera’s flash) when using this mode.

LENS

Wonderful wide angle lens, 10x zoom. Lens does not collect much dust, and the lens itself seems scratch resistant, but the rings around the lens can scratch easily.

VIDEO AND SOUND QUALITY

I was most impressed by the crisp HD video and sound quality when recording in VIDEO mode. The video quality rivals that of entry-level camcorders.

CONS

MANUAL MODE

Like other digital cameras, you can’t do too much in the “Manual” mode on this camera. Aperture can’t be changed much, but shutter speed goes to 1/1500.

USB CABLE / BATTERY CHARGER

A huge disadvantage for me is that you must actually connect the camera (via USB cable) to an outlet to charge the battery — there is no separate, plug in charger for the battery alone. Also, the USB port on the camera is a very strange shape, which can lead to some confusion as to how to plug in the cable.

Overall, probably the best camera you can get for the price!

4 Stars Everything you could ask for…
I must admit I was rather skeptical about this camera at first despite the positive reviews on Amazon. After careful exam of the spec sheet, I decided to give it a try and took it to a recent family trip to Europe. So far, the Samsung has been able to handle everything I throw at it.

I’m a dSLR shooter and consider myself savvy and accomplished. The primary reason I picked this camera was due to its valuable optical range and HD video capability, and this camera really shines in both areas. From about 10′ away on my 52″ Samsung LCD screen, it is pretty hard to detect any difference between broadcasted HD programming and the video clips I shot.

Here is my brief impression on Samsung HZ15W:

Pros:

Extremely useful zoom range at 24-240mm

HD video (720p) with zooming capability

True plug-n’-play via mini HDMI connection to HDTV

Dual Image Stabilizer works as advertised in low lighting

Three aspect ratios: 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9

PAUSE feature in video mode provides one continuous clip up to 30-min

Good 3″ LCD screen (460k)

Intuitive manual system

Cons:

Relatively slow handling

Below average battery life

Bulky and heavy

Long flash recycle time

Average image quality

Default setting produces under-saturated colors

In my opinion, if someone only wants to carry one camera on any trip or event, this is the one to get. It is not an outstanding camera by any means but it does anything relative well with no major shortcomings. However, there’re reviews posted online questioning the durability of this camera which I think any potential buyer should to be aware of.

5 Stars Fantastic Monitor
I did a HUGE amount of research to find the best 22″ computer monitor under $300. The sound is not great (no bad either), but I did not buy it to be a HDTV. It works perfectly. The remote is intuitive, the buttons on the side allow you to switch between monitor and TV very easily. It comes with both VGA and DVI (male-male) cables and it overall a fantastic product. This is the best 22″ monitor for under $300 and it just to happens to be a television too.

4 Stars Good for a small bedroom or office
Pretty satisfied with this product. Had to adjust color and brightness control to get a good picture. My husband says picture is still too small for his satisfaction but I find it just fine for the bedroom. Still haven’t figured out how to program my remote to use my video player (not so easy according to the directions)

3 Stars Good Picture but speechless
Connection was a breeze but no sound. Nothing i tried worked. Someone please tell me what to do. Picture quality is great.

4 Stars Samsung TV
Everything came on time as promised and was quick to set up. The picture as usual is amazing but the sound as other reviews have noted is tinny to fair. Still for a birthday present for the wife so she can watch tv in the kitchen it rocks. She uses it every day so mission accomplished. Thanks Amazon.

4 Stars Great Product
I ordered this monitor as a 2nd screen for my bedroom, I hooked up my 2nd Blu-ray player & 2nd PS3 to it. It looks great, and is very sleek looking. It is a “computer monitor” so it doesn’t have the ability to wall mount so it just sits on my dresser. The plastic stand worried me in the beginning but after a couple of late nights “bumps” into the dresser the stand held firm. It is a great purchase for the price. It has the connection form the coaxial cable and a built in digital tuner….I have not used them since the main purpose was just for the Blu-ray & PS3 not cable. My friend saw it and immediately bought one for herself & her daughters rooms.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Outstanding Picture!
Looked at a million tvs and read as many reviews before choosing this one. For us it came down to picture quality alone (not the thin-ness or looks at all) and seeing it in various stores, it always seemed to have a brighter, sharper picture than any of it’s rivals. Now it’s home, on the wall and connected to our HD DVR and it is superb… stunning, pin-sharp picture quality. It does look great too though, much less obtrusive than our previous smaller, but bulkier 42inch Plasma.

5 Stars Incredible
This Television is the best on the market. Hands down. the future is here. This LED back lit tv is wonderful. Producing the deepest blacks and most vibrant colors I have ever seen.

Watching Blu Ray on this is beautiful.

PLease be aware that Samsung, like most companies care more about their picture then their sound. I have a Bose 321 GS III with an OPTICAL AUDIO CABLE (also important) along with this TV and Blu Ray makes one hell of an experience.

Do yourself a favor and buy this TV!

It’s Brilliant.

5 Stars Excellent TV
Picked up the UN55B7100 from Best Buy this weekend (identical to 7000 except it is Gray ToC instead of red). I love this TV. Upgraded from LNT4061F from Samsung. It is so thin its amazing the wall mount screws don’t go through the screen. At less than 50lbs without the stand it is substantially lighter than any traditional 55 inch lcd or plasma. The colors are vibrant, the blacks are solid and the picture just seems to pop. I haven’t done any calibration or adjustments so I’m thinking it only gets better from here. Hooked up to surround sound system so I can’t say anything about the speakers. Yes, it is more expensive than many similar sized tv, but I really think it’s worth it.

5 Stars sam68
“I have been comparing HDTVs for some time now. I would say that the way to go is LED. I bought the 7100 (silver edge @ Best Buy) and I just love it. Setup was quick and easy. The colors and clarity are out of this world. Great for watching sports! Many reviewers have commented on the speakers, but in a pinch it will do. The sound is as good as my Mitsubishi – 55″ that I’m replacing. If you can get a home theater system you wont regret it. I also bought a Samsung – Blu-Ray Disc Player and a Whalen – 3-in-1 TV Stand.

5 Stars Amazing TV – will not disappoint!! UPDATED 9/23
UPDATED BELOW 9/23/09…

I have had this TV for about 2 weeks now and could not be more pleased! My A/V setup was in place when it arrived and all I had to do was connect the HDMI to start watching television. I am running HD cable (HDMI), Wii (Component), Blu Ray (HDMI), and a camera (HDMI) all through the Denon AVR-1910. Only the HDMI out from the Denon to the TV is needed as it switches and upconverts all video.

So after I plugged it in, cable channels started appearing…except for 2 HD channels – just got a black screen. I spent 45 minutes adjusting resolution ins/outs on the cable box, receiver, and TV to no avail. Finally, I rebooted the cable box, and there they were. Yes, I should have tried that first. Anyway, everything has been running without issue.

I must say, this picture is flat out gorgeous. I spent a lot of time researching TV’s and checking them out in the stores; LG, Sony, Sharp, Toshiba, LCD, LED, etc… but I always came back to this Samsung LED line of sets. I had read reviews talking about “searchlights” in the corners, and conversely, dark spots in the corners. The former issue I never really saw firsthand. The dark spots though, I did notice in the stores. It seemed more prevalent on the 8000 series, and in some cases I didn’t see them at all. When it came down to it though, I found the overall picture so stunning that the dark areas didn’t affect me (it was REALLY subtle). I was also suspicious that the sets in the stores that are constantly turned on may have something to do with it. I am pleased to say that I don’t see any artifacts on my new set. The picture brightness is very uniform throughout. Couldn’t be happier! If you’ve seen these TV’s firsthand you know the thinness of the set is beyond compare. Mine is on a stand, but on the wall it would look amazing (too bad speakers aren’t this thin).

As far as the picture goes, if you are pushing an HD signal to it…WOW! The picture is so vivid, bright, and detailed some scenes truly start to look 3-dimensional. Not sure what effect I’m really seeing but that’s what it looks like. We had friends over and the kids were watching Kung Fu Panda in HD. All the guys were standing there behind the kids mumbling about the amazing picture. Standard def pictures look fine as well, certainly better than my old DLP. But make no mistake, the payoff is in the HD content.

So I find myself tweaking the picture each day….2 notches lower on the color, 1 higher on the gamma, 1 more for backlight, etc… it’s pretty much at the point where all channels look fabulous and I don’t need to adjust anything else. I’d say, expect to do that on any TV you get. I tried a cnet configuration that they recommend for dark room viewing and I hated it! Immediately switched back to my personal settings. The great thing is that the accurate colors and different configurable settings on this TV provide the flexibility that makes it nearly impossible NOT to get a perfect picture! BUT everyone’s TV room, own eyes, and preferences are a little different. Because there are so many setting combinations, finding the perfect configuration for you will just take a little time – don’t expect to have it straight out of the box. As far as contrast goes, awesome! In a scene of Iron Man (Blu Ray), when Tony Stark crashed his own companies party, Jeff Bridges is wearing a tux with a white scarf. I could see the ever-so-slightest off-color herringbone pattern in the scarf next to the black jacket – and it wasn’t a close up. (Not kidding, it was kind of neat!)….so just based on that scene, I’d say the contrast and sharpness are top notch.

The 120hz motion effect is great as well. If you haven’t yet, go see a demonstration in the store – you really need to see it to understand the hype. It is definitely pretty cool, but I have added some blur and judder back into my settings because it kind of freaked my wife out a little bit. Incredibly smooth, but definitely not how you’d see a movie in the theater. Many scenes end up looking fake, or like you’re standing there watching a play on stage. Just know that it’s completely adjustable or can be shut off entirely. Again, your personal preference will dictate the settings.

I’m also happy to say that the Denon upconverts the Wii video nicely and it pops out on the Samsung in full-screen looking great. I imagine PS3 or XBOX games with HD output look as good as Blu Ray. I also got the wireless adapter and hooked up to my Windows Media Center to browse pics and movies. Works great – no issues there.

The only oddity that I have seen is the fluctuating back light during dark scenes. Other reviews point this out as well. If a scene goes really dark, like rolling the first credits after the movie, yes, the entire screen will dim. Switch back to a bright scene and the brightness pops back on. When it happens it’s noticeable, but it doesn’t happen often. I only see it in an extreme contrast change as described above. In my opinion this is a small price to pay when 99.9% of the experience is breathtaking.

Overall, this set delivers an incredible picture that is hard to beat. I read a lot of professional reviews and they always find a few negative things to focus on, like “the moir

4 Stars It hasn’t been long but so far so good
Only had the monitor a few weeks but so far I like it a lot.

Bought it to replace a non-wide screen monitor. Hooked it up to my Dell running xp and things are great out of the box, not stretched like I’ve experienced with some wide screen monitors.

TV with the QAM tuner is great as I get a bunch of HD channels.

All in all I have no hesitation recommending this monitor/tv.

4 Stars sound problem dispute
I purchased this TV through Amazon in January of this year. It is now a great deal cheaper, but I have always been satisfied with the set until—-About two days ago, when I would turn on or switch to certain channels the sound would work for just a few words, then quit totally. Out of 70 available channels, there are nearly half of them that experience this problem. I called Samsung Customer service, and they claim it has to be the cable system. The cable provider claims it has to be the TV. The cable provider will send a technician, but may charge me $45 if it is a TV problem.

What I find interesting is that if I leave on one of the channels that won’t transmit the sound, the TV will suddenly have sound when the local cable system broadcasts it’s own commercial. When the commercial is over, the sound is off again.

The sound is not the best on this TV, and switching from one channel to another is not nearly as fast as other TVs, but once I get this audio problem solved, I will be a happy camper.

5 Stars Samsung HDTV T260HD
Great and no problems. Been using for 9 months as monitor, HDTV using over-the-air digital signals, and as std. DVD player(sorry,blu-ray still too costly for me). Other people complain about the Samsung functioning better as a monitor than a HDTV, and vice-versa…but I am completely satisfied with color, clarity(1920×1200), big screen, ease of switching between monitor and HDTV. Only downside is if you want to mount to articulating wall bracket, you need to buy ‘accessory mounting bracket adapter’ (about $40-50 on Amazon). Good price and good delivery from Amazon.

5 Stars Excellent monitor!
I use it for my computer, DIRECT TV & video games. Excellent purchase and the Amazon service was great as usual.

5 Stars Samsung mid sized TV (25-1/2″)
Take: I went with the theory of “Get the biggest one that fits!” Everyone in the family likes it a lot.

The high-def pictures that come in are great, and the regular channels only so-so, but I attribute this to Comcast rather than the TV. We don’t have a high-def box so the high-def images come in on weird channels – which this TV seems to get a lot of (for example 26-1, 26-2, 26-3 and so on, which may or may not be variations of channel 26). But when the Phillies are on (and winning), and the channel comes in in High Definition, it’s awesome. Sound is so-so, but I’m sure with an $80 pair of computer speakers it would be just fine.

We bought this for our kitchen, so the sound isn’t that critical. OK, I bought it for our kitchen against my wife’s better judgment who wanted something smaller. But I prevailed, saying to her, “Look, I’m the man around the house and we’re getting this here big TV!” Then, when she woke up, I asked much more nicely, sniveling a little and pleading. I thought she said OK, and ordered it, but then she said that was just a cough and how could I do such a thing. I claimed total misunderstanding, and when the TV came in I installed it that afternoon before she got home (quite easily – cable went directly in). Presto, it was up and running! And when she came home from the office there were me and 3 kids all grinning ear to ear with the TV on. She reluctantly agreed to keep it, and now we all really like it.

So, pluses for the clear high def channels, minuses for the unusual channel alignments (Comcast), minus for the sound quality, but 4-1/2 stars because I’d get the same TV again and would recommend it to others.
