4 Stars Great Antenna
I got this because of the digital changeover and I am very pleased with it.

I was surprised how easy it was to install and amazed at how many channels I was getting. It picked up every Local channel from 3 to 12 VHF and every UHF in my state (AZ)By the way, this thing works great inside the house too!

I would recommend this antenna to anyone that is not too obstructed from their local stations.

2 Stars No reception in Santa Monica
After reading the other reviews (and seeing that it was billed as a great indoor or outdoor antenna) I figured the Eagle Aspen would probably be able to pick up a few channels from my apartment…. no luck.

I clicked through the hundred or so channels on my TV several times, always holding the antenna in different positions or putting it in different places. The best I could get was a less-fuzzy state of snow and static. Never even a hint of reception.

Obviously most reviewers loved this antenna. There are probably some places you can get a signal by waving your arms in the air while holding a cable wire between your teeth. Not in Santa Monica (maybe not in most big cities?). Definately did not pick up a darn thing inside my apartment. I even tested it out on the balcony … zilch! Would have done just as well with the arms-in-the-air and the cable-in-teeth thing.

We guys are easy, so I’ll give it two stars for showing up and looking good.

5 Stars Great buy on a UHF antenna
For under $15, you just can’t beat this antenna. I bought it as a backup since I didn’t have much room to mount it. I decided to install it as the main hadn’t arrived yet. Didn’t expect much but, was I surprised! This antenna is pulling in a low power TV station over 60 miles away with no problem. The antenna is mounted on a mast just 11 feet above ground!

BUY ONE!!!

5 Stars Great antenna for the price……Jump on this!!!!
After canceling our satellite service, we were unsure about which antenna to purchase.

I was referred to this one by a Digital TV site and it was a great purchase. For what we needed as far as signal strength, I would highly doubt there is a better antenna for the money. Well made, basic look and VERY easy to set up. I am not the most technically savvy person in the world but this was easy to assemble and hook up.

Picture quality and signal strength is nearly 100% on the 6 stations we can pick up.

Don’t be scared off by this price; “you get what you pay for” does not apply to this product. This is a quality antenna.

5 Stars Excellent Antenna
I purchased this antenna to replace my Tivax DT-01 antenna. I was getting about 8 stations with the Tivax antenna and as soon as I hooked up the Eagle Aspen antenna, I was getting 15 stations. The new antenna is mounted indoors in the middle of my apartment and the reception is excellent. It is ugly, I can’t deny that, but based solely on the performance, I highly recommend this antenna over the traditional loop and rabbit ears type.

Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High Definition Antenna for Off Air HDTV Reception

The high-performance HDTVa amplified indoor HDTV antenna from Terk Technologies is designed to capture both UHF and VHF signals (channels 2 to 69) while extending the reception range for all local HDTV broadcasts. The HDTVa uses an ultra-low-noise, high-gain amplifier with Terk’s exclusive Dual-Drive Amplifier technology for clear reception of both distant and close HDTV and DTV stations.

As suitable for those living in city apartments as for those in suburban homes, the compact HDTVa lets viewers experience HDTV broadcasts in full resolution. Designed for total reception versatility, the HDTVa’s high-gain antenna array can be oriented either horizontally or vertically within its mounting base to achieve optimum capture of off-air broadcasts.

Set the amplifier to high-gain mode to compensate for signals that are too weak or might otherwise be bypassed for a stronger signals nearby. Simplifying your installation, the HDTVa uses Terk’s Power Injector to derive power via its coaxial connecting cable. The result? One cable is all you have to connect, making it easy to install the HDTVa atop or near your television.

The antenna is engineered to receive all local HDTV channels, with an operating bandwidth covering both the UHF (channels 2 to 13) and VHF (channels 14 to 69) frequency ranges. Its highly directional log periodic UHF and precision VHF elements are designed to receive HDTV broadcasts with maximum signal strength while rejecting all or most interference. The HDTVa is as exceptional in appearance as it is in performance: its curved, tapering, polished-aluminum antenna elements are mounted in a slim base with a contoured front that visually complements the curve of the antenna elements.

1 Star FAIL
I was surprised to find that the Terk HDTVa performs much worse than the cheapest set of RCA bunny ears.

This antenna might work in some locations, but my recommendation is to avoid the headaches and pass.

The Terk gets 2 stars for ease of setup because it’s natural resting position is on its side. The base is poorly designed and it just wants to tip over.

This product is going back to Expo.

4 Stars It works
I just installed it, and after a lot of fenagling, I finally got all the channels in. I hope they stay tuned in. If all the channels do stay in, it will be the first time since the government forced digital TV upon us that I’ve had all our available channels tuned in again. One drawback is that the cord kind of gets in the way when turning it to adjust it.

4 Stars Huge? Yes. Pricey? Yes. Works? Sure!
Getting over-the-air HDTV reception is tricky for me. I live in a densely populated metropolis and there is a giant hill in the back of my house that serves as a reception buzzkill. So when I was shopping around for an antenna I had to ask a lot of questions. I learned that powered antennas worked best in my area. And of the powered antennas available locally, a salesperson recommended the Terk. But, wow, was it expensive! Thankfully Amazon had it in stock for much much less.

I’ve been using this antenna for a few weeks now and I’m impressed with the reception. It seems to work best when pointed generally in the direction of most TV stations’ broadcast towers (in my case, towards San Francisco). The picture and sound quality are great and I like the fact that it’s a powered antenna that can pick up signals through walls. I’m using it in a room near the back of my house.

The thing I don’t like about it is its size. The Terk needs SPACE. It’s worth noting that in addition to the front protruding antennae on the unit, there is a pair of old-fashioned rabbit ears in the rear that when fully telescoped make the Terk quadruple in size and appearance. Ironically, reception in my area improves dramatically with the rabbit ears up and out and hogging up space in the room.

Still, I’m giving it 4 stars. Amazon sells it for less than the retail stores and it works really well where I live. That’s good enough for me.

4 Stars great antenna
The Terk does bring in signals from 40 miles. I am that far from the stations. It is clear HD. Thanks

4 Stars OK
Was better than Rabbit ears and other amplified antenna that I tried. We are in a really tough spot in a low spot way out of town in a townhouse where I cannot put up an antenna. Not a miracle worker, but better than the other options I tried (GE, Philips, Radio Shack).
